At the beginning of every year, I’ve taken a page from Chris Brogan’s book and published a post called My Three Words. Here’s this year’s post.
My three words were: Moonshot, Known, Ready.
The idea was that I wanted to accomplish extraordinary things, be more well known, and that I’m ready for whatever life throws at me both good and bad.
I’m happy to report
This year has been all three.
My company is thriving, I’m getting more paid speaking engagements, my podcast has been doing tremendously well. We’ve surpassed my goals set early in the year. And there’s even some super exciting secret news on the horizon. But we’ve definitely shot for the moon, and we might just get there.
I have grown my audience, and expanded my network. I’ve been to more events, I’ve spoken to more audiences. It’s likely that I am more well known.
And in the midst of slow months, crazy months, and even losing some big opportunities, I’ve taken it in stride…I was ready.
Why I Write My Three Words
Some people make resolutions at the New Year. I find resolutions too easy to abandon. We come out of the gate overly ambitious and after a few setbacks, we stop. My three words are my themes. These three words guide how I behave, the goals I set, the choices I make.
Every year, my three words have made an impact on how my year has played out.
I hope your year is going well.
