It is with both great pride and a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Jon Steiert. Today, Jon starts the first day of his new job at Pet360.

Jon had been with True Voice Media since early 2012.

It started on Twitter

Jon came to the True Voice Media team via Twitter; I had put out a tweet looking for some help on a project and Jon responded.  Additionally, Jon was also working with Harrison Kratz on Operation Social Santa (formerly Tweet Drive), a holiday toy drive organized via Social Media; we were also involved with Operation Social Santa.

Jon showed himself to be diligent with a strong work ethic, and after completing work on the first project I decided to bring Jon back on additional projects. Soon enough he was a regular part of my team.

The Storyteller & Social Media Swiss Army Knife

Jon’s primary interest is storytelling, and because of his wide range of skills, I gave Jon the title of Storyteller and Social Media Swiss Army Knife.  During his time with True Voice Media Jon worked on numerous projects involving a variety of skills from research, to community management, social listening, policy development, and more…

For our clients, Jon served as the eyes of the customer.  After identifying the target audience, Jon was responsible conducting research through the eyes of that customer and with experience in theater, Jon was a natural fit to take on a new persona.

In addition to what Jon did for our clients, Jon worked just as hard for us.  Jon was responsible for a huge amount of community management for True Voice Media.  If you ever interacted with us on Twitter or Facebook, it’s very likely that it was Jon who was responding with his signature ^JS.  Jon helped put out our Learning Center newsletter and source the content for the #soc5 on Twitter.  All in all, Jon was truly a swiss army knife.

Social Echoes

As many of you know, Jon was the brains behind Social Echoes, the True Voice Media Podcast.  As Jon begins his new role at Pet360, we will be discontinuing Social Echoes.  There will be a total of 30 episodes, we currently have 3 left to record.  The last episode will be me (Jeff Gibbard) interviewing Jon, which should be fun.

Pet360: The Next Step

Above all else however the thing that I will miss about Jon is his heart and soul.  Jon has a remarkable work ethic, he’s creative and he personally invests himself in his work.

My hope is that the time that Jon spent with True Voice Media will equip him to take Pet360 to new heights, and I’m confident that he will.

On behalf of myself, our clients, and any of our partners that have had the good fortune to have worked with him, I wish Jon Steiert the best of luck in his new position at Pet360.
