I came across a post today, Anthologize Turns Your Blog Into A Book. Essentially this WordPress plugin allows you to create an ebook out of your blog posts. Not too long ago I had the idea that people’s status updates, blogs, videos and other user generated online content actually form a pretty nice autobiography. Facebook is currently exceptionally tedious to deal with in this process; how many times can you click “Older Posts” until you get sick of scrolling? Likewise Twitter though easier, doesn’t give you any sort of option to go back and pull tweets from say May 2008-July 2008.
I think what would be interesting to see would be a social media monitoring service that could cull together all of a person’s social activity and create a for-purchase digital yearbook with the option to buy a hardcover book that catalogs all status updates.
Does anyone else think this would be an interesting idea? I’d love to see what my year looked like in retrospect as told through my status updates.
