You think you want thousands of likes on your Facebook page.

You think you want everyone to know your name.

You think you want your audience to be obsessively engaged with you, hanging on every word you write, resharing every picture you post.

You think you want everyone’s attention…you think you want to go viral.

But what if you got all of that?

Now you have to answer every incoming query.  That takes staff, guidelines and time.

Now you have to be human and vulnerable.  That takes courage and a culture that most companies aren’t ready for.

Now you have to be interesting or risk losing that attention.  That takes planning, and the discipline to continually observe, research and share ideas.

Now you have to monitor what’s being said as your content gets shared across the web.  That takes time, effort, and the willingness to wade through garbage to find the diamonds.

Now you have to be bigger, better and faster than you are now.  That takes hard work and a commitment to change, adapt and evolve.

Is this what you really want?  Think about it.
