It’s no secret that I get overwhelmed and stressed out…we all do. And to each of us, it’s often the biggest thing in the world.
And then, inevitably, we’re given a wake up call.
It could be the friend who is running their own business, running events, being there for everyone else…but then suddenly and without warning, loses the person closest to them.
It could be the friends around my age that just lost a child.
It could the person who was looking for work, and was running into trouble paying for the medication their daughter needed to live.
It could even be the person who is winning the battle against cancer, but still struggling to sleep, and deal with pain.
In each of these cases, I’m reminded that we all have stress, we all get overwhelmed, and for each of us there’s always two options: fight or give up. I’m also reminded that no matter what your situation, as bad as it may feel, there is someone out there dealing with something just a little bit worse..or possibly, a whole lot worse.
If I gave up I’d never be able to look myself in the mirror, so I continue to fight. What about you?
Today’s Assignment: Reach out to someone who you know is going through the struggle, and let them know that you are there for them. At the very least, it’ll get you to stop focusing on your own problems for a moment.
