What is this nonsense I keep hearing about RSS being dead? What is that? I love Twitter as much as the next person, really, I do. But as great as Twitter is I want someone to tell me how it is going to replace my Google Reader? I monitor 1678 feeds in Google Reader. That covers an intense amount of information and a good deal of that is either not on Twitter or it’s buried under a giant stream of updates. My RSS reader serves a specific function, just like Twitter. So all this talk of RSS being dead is nonsense.
Besides RSS is simply another tool. Twitter has RSS feeds, Facebook has a few, every site on the planet with a blog has one and the technology is not going anywhere…mark my words.
