So now you’re finished looking backwards.

No more time to resurrect the old ideas.

No more time to try and alter people’s behaviors or preferences.

It’s time to capitalize on today.

So you look around and see what’s hot today. What are people doing?

  • You jump on the latest hashtag #LookAtMeToo.
  • You hold up a sign asking to get a million likes, hoping it goes viral on Facebook.
  • You see the popularity of the ice bucket challenge and try to do something similar.
  • You make a lip sync YouTube video parody or ask your office to do the Harlem Shake

But people have already seen it.  The novelty has worn off.  The attention will be short lived at best. You are lost amidst the noise.

What do you do?

You obviously can’t stand still or time passes you by.  Trying to chase the latest trend is like running in place.  There is always something new.

So if you can’t look backwards for the solution, and you can’t stand still, or chase today’s newest trend. What’s left but to look forward, right?

But looking forward has its problems too, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to read about that.  Look forward to it.
