Let’s be honest, it’s not often that the majority of people work a full day. Part of the day is spent messing around on the internet, watering crops on Farmville and getting the scoop from Perez Hilton. Today I had a full day, literally from the time I sat down at my desk until the moment I hit publish on this post, I’ve been at it full speed.
I don’t think there is anything inherently wrong with NOT working a full day. In fact, I think at times it can be detrimental to creative thinking as “the grind” wears on our ability to see beyond our task list. That being said it feels really good to rock out all day and drive tangible, measurable value for clients.
Speaking of measurement, I want to give a shout out to a tool I love very much: Harvest. Harvest is an app that lets me track my time and expenses for clients. There’s an iPhone app and a web app. I had to monitor my time at my last job but it was cumbersome as I was the only Mac user, Timeslips was PC only and it was a memory hog to keep it going all day. By using Harvest, I can track time and expenses from anywhere in a lightweight app.
I hope you all had a great day. Mine’s been just peachy.
