I love traveling but I’ve really started to hate flying. It’s not so much that they charge for bags, even though than sucks, or that there’s no good food on a plane. I don’t even mind that they make me put seat and tray in their upright position.

So here is my brief list of the Top 3 things that could make me stop hating air travel.

1. Internet
2. Leg room…no wait…Arm room…wait…I mean BOTH.
3. Stop making me take off my shoes, belt, shirt and underwear.

1. Internet.
This is obvious. Seriously, do you think I want to watch Paul Blart Mall Cop? Do I want to watch old episodes of Friends? It’s not that those are bad things to do on a plane. Some people love Kevin James and think David Schwimmer is…charming? I don’t know, I don’t watch Friends, but what I do spend my time doing is blogging, using Twitter, building relationships and reading industry news. I also browse Youtube and Hulu. I listen to music on Pandora and Grooveshark. Compare an airplane’s movie selection to Netflix on-demand streaming movies. And I can’t be the only one who wants to check my email or do work while sitting in a pressurized box 3 miles off the ground. Every airline should implement this immediately.

2. Leg room…no wait…Arm room…wait…I mean BOTH.
I’m tired of sitting down hunching my shoulders and tucking myself into the fetal position as I endure a lengthy flight. Clearly I’m exaggerating, but not by much, it’s not fun. At 5’5″ leg room isn’t a huge deal, and at 170 lbs. I’m not slender but I’m also certainly not obese. In spite of my shorter stature frame and average frame I do find myself longing for a little more leg room and definitely more arm room, especially in those unfortunate circumstances where I’m in the middle seat. Can we improve this please?

3. Stop making me take off my shoes, belt, shirt and underwear.
I know that these precautions are there for my own protection but that doesn’t mean I can’t complain about it. It’s just sucks that I have to empty my pockets: iphone, wallet, cash/change, business cards etc. Then I have to take out my laptop–sometimes laptop and netbook–followed by taking off my shoe, belt and watch. It’s exhausting and really makes the travel process annoying. I just wonder if they’ll require cavity searches for everyone after the first time someone tried to sneak something on in their body cavities?

That’s all. The only purpose of this blog was to give the Top 3 things that could make air travel bearable again. What do you think?
