You meet people.  You have big ideas.  You’re going to partner with them or you’re going to do business with them.

You do this dance every so often.  Every few months you get together and make the statement that things are moving.  You promise to “be in touch.”  “We’re almost there” “we’re almost ready.”

This is the “yes” in us.  It wants to do things.  It wants to work with people.  It wants to change things.

But there’s a “no” in us too and I think we sometimes take that for granted.  I think we ignore it.  We hesitate to rain on the parade.

Is it better to say “no” in the first place, than it is to be a phony “yes” for months?
