People often complain but that the web has gotten too noisy.
There are too many channels, there’s too much content, and there’s no more time.
People often complain that LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook have gotten overly self-promotional. Everyone wants to sell you their course. Everyone has a blog post.
People (myself included) have complained that new sites and apps get far too much hype. No one really needs many more apps.
The problem is systemic. These platforms need user growth. These users need sales.
At the very least however, we can attempt to be better. We do that but going small. Invest our time in one to one relationships. When we stop selling, when we stop trying to go viral…we might just meet someone extraordinary.
