What is it about the end of the year that makes us re-evaluate, and seek a fresh start? Why is it that January 1st is when we all decide to “get in shape?” We have the opportunity every day to start fresh, yet we wait until “significant” moments in time.
Maybe we all just wanted to get past the Mayan End of Days?
In any event, I’m taking great delight in the quiet of the end of year. The end of the year holiday time creates an ideal opening for reflection, thinking and planning. Virtually nothing else gets done before the New Year. Offices are empty, emails sit in inboxes, and it is accepted.
Overall, I’m very pleased with 2012. It could’ve been better but then again, it could’ve been MUCH worse. I feel great about the upcoming year. I’m getting my content strategy, time management and new business push ready for January 1.
I wish that there were more opportunities throughout the year where I felt the calm and quiet of the end of the year. This downtime makes everything come through more clearly.
