And then I started needing more sleep…

or maybe I always did

In my twenties, I only needed a few hours worth of sleep.

Now, as I get older, I find myself struggling through the day whenever I get less than 6 hours.

In my early twenties, I used to be a champion of recovery. I could get completely hammered drunk, sleep 4 hours, wake up and handle anything.

Now, I have trouble “recovering” from the previous day simply because I didn’t drink enough water, let alone alcohol.

Did these things compound over time? Would I have operated at a higher level all this time had I slept more and drank more water?

Probably.

You’ll understand when you’re older.

  • Make sure to get enough sleep.
  • Start saving for retirement when you’re young.
  • You’re not invincible. Take care of your body.

It’s amazing how many pieces of advice I received, that now, over time, make sense.

It’s almost as if certain advice is time-released.

But how can we hack that system, so we don’t have to wait for it to make sense until it’s too late.
