There’s a big difference between messaging and having everyone saying the same thing. Messaging is a concept, a set of ideals…not a script. If you are in customer service, reading the script and saying your call is important to us us not the same thing as believing that your call is actually important to us.

The thing about a script is that it stands between you and your customer; it stands in the way of you actually engaging with, empathizing with and making a connection without the person on the other end.

 

Cold calls are cold enough, a script makes it freezing.

 

PowerPoint can be a great way to illustrate a point, but it’s also a huge reason of why so many presentations fail. It becomes about the slides, you have them and you need to get through them.
