Currently, Facebook does not give you the ability to transfer ownership of Fan Pages.  Why is this a problem?

Well, for example:

Let's say you hire someone to take care of your social media presence on Facebook.  You hire a 20-something right out of college because "hey, all 20-somethings know how to use Facebook."  This kid sets up a Facebook page, begins posting and you realize shortly after that the content is not appropriate.  After several meetings, you can't seem to rectify your views with theirs and you want your Fan Page back.  So you come to the conclusion that this young whipper-snapper needs to move on out.  What now?  Well…you're stuck.  Even though you can have multiple admins on a Fan Page, the owner is the owner for life or at least until Facebook realizes that this is AN IMPORTANT FEATURE!

Get it Facebook?!  Now if you have someone in your company who stumbles upon this blog please realize I'm not the only one.

Help us out here Facebook.  You want to be taken seriously as a platform or businesses right?  Please implement this very obvious feature.  Luckily I'm a nice guy and have no grudges but I could be defacing my old company's page right now, think about that PR nightmare…as if you don't have enough to deal with.
