So the dust has settled from Google i/o and every seems to be very impressed. There’s a new tablet and a new Android OS and even teasers for the new Google Glasses. Everything looks awesome…but there’s still one thing I want more than anything else.
Google…Unified
Here’s what I want:

I want all of the various Google communications platforms to be integrated and delivered in one app. I have a hard time giving Google 5-6 different spots on my iOS homescreen, not because I don’t want to use all of those tools, but because there’s no need to have then divided over that many apps.
Take for instance, messaging. The current iteration of messaging is silly.
1) doesn’t work on desktop
2) is different from Google Talk/Chat
WHY? Bundle the two together! If Google wants to own our information, they have to do a better job of making it easy for us. To Facebook’s credit, Facebook messages is bad ass!
But imagine being able to go into one app and see your texts, IMs, G+ messages, phone calls and voicemails. The single notification panel could show all of them. Google could essentially own every mobile OS platform by building an app you’d never have to leave! It’s calls, texts and social all bundled together; they could even add emails!
You could choose how to contact someone all from inside one app. You could search across your email, google+, texts, phone calls and even the web, all from one app!
Technical Specifications
To be honest, I don’t even know that this is possible, and I’m sure the very bright people at Google are working their asses off to make great products.
But as someone that uses nearly everything google makes, except Android, I’d really like to see this come to fruition.
Anyone else like this idea? If so, do me a favor and either Tweet it, +1 it, Like it, Pin it or share it directly with Vic Gundotra on Google+.
