“Are you working IN your business or ON your business?”
I can’t tell you how many times I have been asked that question before the day I started listening to it.
Do you HONESTLY know the difference between a freelancers and an entrepreneur?
See above.
A freelancer is always working IN their business.
An entrepreneur is always working ON their business.
If all you are doing is “the work” you will never scale beyond doing the work. It is not scalable to work more. There’s a limit.
If you want to grow a company, the key is to build systems. You must think about how to grow your business to be acquired or sold…EVEN IF YOU DON’T PLAN TO SELL.
If it can’t run without you, it’s not a business.
Entrepreneurs build things. And as tough as it is to admit this, I think, until recently, I’ve been a freelancer calling myself an entrepreneur.
