Last night my fiancee got me and iPad as a wedding present. Anyone who knows me knows that this is the perfect gift for me a I am not only a gadget fanatic but a very obvious fan of Apple products. I immediately set it up so I could bring it to work today. The most important apps for me are all about content consumption, followed closely by content broadcasting. The first few apps I’ve downloaded are: NewsRack, Kindle, iBooks, DropBox Analytics HD, Marvel, Pandora, Evernote and Tweetdeck (ugh)
NewsRack has been great, allowing me to consume news content in one of the most enjoyable ways I’ve ever experienced. The Kindle has given me the opportunity to make some progress in a book I’m reading, Trust Agents by Chris Brogan. It’s a great book and I’ve been mainly reading it on the Kindle software on my iPhone; the iPad is obviously a better experience. Marvel is particularly impressive as I am a HUGE Spider-man fan and the Marvel app, provides an amazing comic reading experience. Evernote is probably my most used app. I tried out Springpad for a day but just wound up mimicing a similar organizational structure in Evernote. Tweetdeck is a sad, crashy app and I’m eagerly awaiting Hootsuite for iPad. I’ll keep everyone posted on my thoughts but so far I love it.
