Obsession is a word that is often associated with an unhealthy fixation on something.  But why does it have to be bad?

What is the difference between an obsession and intense focus?

When I think about growing my company, or being the best at what I do, I am excited by it, and I am totally fixated on that future.  I can’t stop thinking about it.  I think about it everyday, and sometimes it keeps me up late.

Obsession is just another word to describe the process of getting what you want through commitment, intention, and hard work.

The obsession is born out of desire.  But while desire can be squashed by reality, obsession is unconcerned with reality. The obsessive sees only one thing.

If you want to be the best at something and you are not obsessed with it, then you’re going to need to gather all of your strength to beat the person that is obsessive.

In a competition between someone driven and someone obsessed, my money is on obsessed every time.  Now where can I find more of them to hire?
