I’ve been reading Chris Brogan and Julien Smith’s book, Trust Agents. I’ve actually been reading it for a while. It wasn’t until I got my iPad that I really started to make a dent in it. I’m about 72% through the book, according to the Kindle software, and I recently came upon a section called One Way Intimacy. Essentially, if you subscribe to my blog, unless you comment or email me to introduce yourself, I’d really have no idea who you are, what you like about my blog, or what would be valuable to you. You’d know me because I share my life on my personal blog and Facebook, or my professional life on this blog, my tumblog and Twitter. It’s funny because the idea behind social media is that it’s a dialogue, not a monologue; the communication is two way.
It’s really for this reason that I created the “About You” section of my blog. I’d like to know about you. What do you do? What do you like? What don’t you like? Take a minute to introduce yourself…you never know, we could become best friends.
