Computers generally run on some sort of operating system. It is the mechanism by which the information and is processed, files are interpreted and users are able to make sense of the programming languages.
If you think about it, each of us kind of has our own operating system. It is the framework by which we make decisions and live our lives. Our operating systems are how we interpret the world around us and in some cases, that makes our systems incompatible with others.
It could be said that some people have (subjectively) better operating systems than others. Their operating system gives them more empathy and understanding. It may give them addition motivation or confidence. It may allow them to see more points of view and process more information.
Trouble always seems to arise when you begin dealing with someone who has an outdated or subjectively less capable operating system. You cannot convince operating systems to accept files from other systems. The code may be different. It simply doesn’t work.
So then the challenge isn’t just to work with another operating system, but to figure out how to install an entirely new one.
