Dear ALL Salespeople,

Let’s get really clear about something I don’t owe you my time.

Just because you send an email, doesn’t entitle you to a response.

Just because you call, doesn’t entitle you to present your lengthy sales script to me.

I’m a nice person, so sometimes I reply kindly to the email. Sometimes, I indulge the first 30 seconds of your phone call.

But don’t think that because you’re in sales that anyone else gives a crap. I certainly don’t.

I bet you’ll get a better response on the phone if you start by saying, “do you have a few minutes to talk?” And if you don’t hear back by email, take the hint.
