My life, both professional and personal, is entirely MY responsibility.
- If I want to progress in my career, it’s squarely on my shoulders to make that happen. No one is accountable for it but me.
- If I want work, I have to go get work.
- If I want attention, I have to fight for it and earn it.
- If I want to grow my company and my team, it’s on me to figure out how to do that, or where to find the guidance I need to do that.
- If I want a relationship to be stronger and more connected, it’s 100% on me to fix that.
I am no different than anyone else in this regard. We are all accountable for our own future.
So if you just got done complaining about how someone else got in your way, take a step back and think how you can own that result.
Once you realize that it’s all on you, you can either crumble under the weight of that, or embrace how amazing it is that nothing can stand in your way.
