The past four months represent the most significant and unprecedented string of successes in my career.
- We’ve taken on a greater role with many of our clients.
- Incoming opportunities are more frequent, and more significant.
- My speaking schedule has me travelling all over the country and even internationally.
- Our team has grown, and we’re about to move into our office space.
All of this comes at a price though.
- I’ve started scheduling lunches, happy hours, and sales appointments 2-3 weeks out.
- My personal time is at an all-time low. I steal a few evenings per week to go out with friends for drinks or dinner, away from work. But I have friends I haven’t seen in months.
- Our team has to be more and more selective about who we work with, due to bandwidth issues.
- Our expenses have grown as our revenue has grown.
Where is this going?
This momentum needs to continue, but we also need to be able to handle it. Failure is not an option.
To keep this train on the tracks, I have to be bigger: I have to be a better leader, a better delegator, a better project manager. I am now, more regularly, sailing in uncharted territories and there are two options: Step up or Fall.
I’ve worked hard to get to this point and now I have to figure out how to deliver.
Step up or Fall? Only time will tell but my plan is to keep stepping up.
