If we’ve ever met, it probably doesn’t surprise you that I was the class clown.

I like making people laugh;

I like making people smile;

I’m high energy; and

I enjoy attention.

Recently, a handful of people remarked what I’ve always known to be true, that there is more to me than just energy, excitement, and humor.

For my entire life I feel that I’ve been taken at face value, a book judged by its cover.  I’ve always had a head full of bigger ideas, more complex emotions than just a desire to be the court jester, and more maturity than my potty mouth and laid back attitude might communicate.

Perhaps it is the passage of time, the maturity of my social circle, or some way that I’ve been acting differently, but I’m glad that I can be appreciated for having depth beyond just a good laugh.

Thanks to those that took the time to sit down and have a full conversation with me.  It’s nice to feel like people finally get me.
