If a program crashes, you will not necessarily get that genius back.
You may be able to rewrite it but there’s something that happens when you are “in the zone.” The words mesh together, the flow is beautiful, you know that it’s good. When you try and recreate that it never feels quite right, you always remember how good it felt when you were in the zone. No one else will ever know, because they didn’t see it, but you’ll always know.
I wrote a post a few months back that was awesome. I loved it. I truly felt that it was an extraordinary post. I was on a plane, writing a draft in Evernote on my iPad. About 550 words in…BOOM, Evernote crashes and I’m back on the homescreen. Lost the entire thing.
Save your work, regularly. Set a timer and save every 5-10 minutes.
