I recently learned a valuable lesson about being in the service business.
NEVER DO WORK WITHOUT AN AGREEMENT.
This is part of me growing up in my business. This isn’t about trust, this isn’t about formalities for the sake of formalities, and this certainly isn’t about the desire to be litigious; this is about protecting all parties involved so that everyone can focus on doing the work.
All specifics aside, I’ll just say that I’ve been operating without agreements on far too many occasions, and it has to stop.
