Piles of clothes.

A sink full of dishes.

Papers and stacks of business cards on my desk.

A task list submerged in chaos and disorganization.

I’ve noticed that when I’m spinning, unable to process what comes next, I need to bring the chaos into order. I need to organize my task lists, get all unrecorded tasks into a system, and transfer notes from my notebook into digital form. I need to clean up my room, clean up my office, clean up my kitchen.

My mind, in many ways, reflects my surroundings.

The clutter in my physical spaces and digital spaces leads to clutter in my mental space. So, when you ask “how are you doing,” you can look at the state of clutter on my desk, and have a reasonable understanding of how I’m really doing.
