What is the worst social media practice possible?
Ugh, there are so many that are just terrible and it varies by network. However, I think the universally despised is SPAM! No one likes SPAM.
Let’s quickly define SPAM:
SPAM: anything unsolicited and annoying, typically served repeatedly.
- Post the same thing to your Facebook wall or Twitter stream 10 times in a row: SPAM
- Invite me to your event 50 times: SPAM
- Send me your stupid social gaming requests: SPAM
- Get my email address from Facebook and send me your newsletter: SPAM
Bottom line? Get permission and respect your network/audience. If you serve relevant and interesting content, and don’t bombard people, you should be ok.
