You get a lot of calls, so you have an automated voicemail system. You have three options.
1. Play awful music, blaring through the headset, and remind us every 30 seconds that our “call is important” and that we will” be taken care of by the next available representative.”
2. Use the automated system to have callers enter their phone number to be called back when the representative is available, rather than having them wait on hold.
3. Offer some sort of social media customer support to reduce the volume of calls coming in–many of which are simple questions that could be answered in 30-45 seconds.
What do YOU do?
Remember that it’s never enough to say something to your customer, you have to prove it to them by backing up words. Hollow words are better left unsaid, and if you really mean it, put some thought into it.
People will appreciate it.
Trust me.
