I don’t think you can define yourself as an optimist, if you are only optimistic when its convenient.

Sometimes in the thick of it, you need to look past all of the obvious factors pointing to failure, and simply state that “things will get better.”

The convenient optimist is the same as the bandwagon sports fan. It’s the new Yankees fan, the one who only showed up when they started winning again, and postured as if they’d been there all along.

Don’t be that person, it’s hollow.  That person retreats and quits when it gets tough.

Instead, be the fan that stuck with the team through thick and thin.  The one who watched the worst seasons.  The one who never gave up.

Victory will taste the sweetest to the person who went through hell and back with belief that never wavered.

Is it easier to give up?  Sure.

It’s your choice.
