I’ve been blogging for a long time. I started around 2008.

Since then, I’ve had amazing articles that I think people will LOVE, and almost no one reads it.

And I’ve had random posts that, surprisingly, drive 85% of the traffic for a site.

On Social Media Philanthropy, one single post about Spotify, drives 75% of the traffic.

On this blog, one single post, drives about 80% of the traffic.

On my clients’ sites, typically one page or another will drive upwards of 50% of the traffic.

I can only identify one variable in creating an article or webpage that drives such substantial traffic: create content regularly.

I can find no other common variable.

I write on this blog constantly, almost everyday (now that I’m back to writing), and it was a single post with just the right title, that caused my monthly traffic to grow more than 300%. I didn’t plan on this post being “the one” but it was.

If you want to eventually hit it big, or have something go viral, the only thing you need to plan is doing the work.  Write great headlines, try to write things people care about and keep on doing it.

Here’s your assignment for the day: Write a blog post, and publish it.  Minimum 250 words.  GO!
