Tweetdrive

Harrison Kratz (a guest blogger on this site), with the help of Kratz PR & Management, and volunteer teams across the nation have planned the first Holiday Tweet Drive. I’d like to tell you a little more about it and encourage you to come out tonight, bring an unwrapped toy and make a child’s holiday.   Remember that it’s the season for giving…not just getting.

Tweetdrive: What is it?

A series of toy and clothing drives organized via social media. The tweet drive, a three-week event in over 30 cities, kicks off in Philadelphia and Boston Monday, Dec. 6, and ends Wednesday, Dec. 22 in Washington, DC.

The tweet drive uses the benefits of social networking to give back to children all over the country. Teams in each city are tailoring every event to meet the needs of the specific community. Anyone 18 and older can attend at no cost, providing they bring one new toy or article of clothing.

At the event, attendees can enjoy networking with other professionals, drink specials, raffles and social media and holiday trivia.

Tweetdrive: Why get involved?

Um, because it’s the Holidays…obviously.

Kids need toys and there are loads of kids all over this country who aren’t going to get an XBox Kinect or an iPod Touch, they may not get much at all.  This is all of our chance to give back.  Sure we’d all like to think that we are charitable and philanthropic but the non-stop frantic pace of life and obligations makes it tough.  Take today out of the routine and come by the Field House with a toy to make some kid smile on Christmas morning or on one of the remaining days of Chanukah.

Where is it?

The Philadelphia Tweet drive is at The Field House starting at 7:00pm.
