Some people have found ways to work smarter instead of harder.

These people save time, money, energy, and more…

They found the shortcut.

Many people come to me looking to get attention, online…ALL the attention, online.  But when I bring up the work that goes into that, some will ask for the silver bullet, or the shortcut.

I write strategy for a living, and I like to think we present the ideas that will best allow our clients to work smarter, not harder; we find the shortcuts.

But even shortcuts have a limit.

Sometimes, even taking the shortest route will take time, money, and effort. If you want to do something, and become the very best, or be widely seen and acknowledged, it’s going to take time, or a whole lotta luck.

Whatever your big idea, you’ve got to get comfortable with the fact that it’s going to take time and work.

Today’s Assignment: Post a comment on this post about something you’re working on, that you intend to put the work into, without shortcuts.  Use the hashtag: #NoShortcuts
