I started blogging in 2008. I started this blog in 2010, though it used to be on (the now defunct) Posterous.
As of today, I’ve written somewhere around 915 blog posts between Social Media Philanthropy, True Voice Media and this blog. Add in Medium and Social Business News and it’s a little over 920 posts.
I gave my first speaking engagement in 2010. Interestingly it was to 150 people in Los Angeles…I’d never given a public speaking engagement and it was to more than 100 people across the country…talk about scary. I spent the next few years giving free speaking engagements locally.
As of today, I’ve spoken more than 50 times, and I’m slated to speak this year all across the country AND in Amsterdam.
I started my company in 2011, I had one client.
As of today, we’ve worked with more than 40 clients.
Until recently, no one ever wrote about my company. Until recently, no one paid much attention to me.
Within the last month, I’ve been mentioned/quoted in the NY Times (twice), Philly.com, and CMSWire.com.
I didn’t start out with any of this. I didn’t expect any of this. I started out with one step.
Take the first one. Then take the next one. Worrying about the future is silly. Just take one step. I’m still taking it, one step at a time.
…
And just for fun, here are the first posts from all of my blogs:
Supernova Hub (from this blog)
For the record, there were posts before this from the former Day in the Life blog, but the posts got lost somewhere along the way.
