“We’ve tried that before and it didn’t work.”

I’ve tried lots of things before that didn’t work. At the time I probably wasn’t qualified to do it.

  • I started a business before…it didn’t work.
  • I tried walking once when I was an infant…and fell down.
  • I tried making eggs before, and they came out terrible.

The great thing about trying things that don’t work, isn’t that you learn to stop trying again. It’s that you have an opportunity for self improvement by looking at why it didn’t work last time.

But for that to happen, you need enough self worth to realize you weren’t perfect then, and you aren’t perfect now. You have to own your part in the previous failure. Because if you don’t take any ownership in why it didn’t work in the past, then you have no power to change yourself to make it work in the future.
