Over the weekend I cleaned out my basement. I got 20 gallon blue bins and put everything in the bins. I threw out tons of boxes. I made everything neat and orderly. It feels great. Last week I spent part of a day getting my office cleaned out. I went through old papers, threw out useless credit card offers and generally made my workspace clean. I general, having a clean space, creates a clean mind, at least for me. What I’ve noticed is that I do the same thing digitally. I’m constantly revising my organization strategy. Looking to add tags and ensure that my data is “clean.” I’ve put off these tasks for a long time because I had work to take care of, and I still do. But it’s important to make sure that you are setting yourself up to scale. If you are committed to growth, which I am with my company True Voice Media, then you have to be ready at all times for the flood gates to open. At any minute my business could go from manageable to chaos. I want to make sure my ducks are in a row, do you?
