One of the projects we’ve been working on has been a pro-bono project with the Hero Thrill Show.

The Hero Thrill Show is a Philadelphia-based not-for-profit event that raises money for a scholarship fund for the children of Philadelphia Police Officers and Firefighters that died in the line of duty.  Our goals are to increase awareness about the event and help to sell more tickets.

We’ve taken on a number of different tasks but one of the most significant was redesigning and relaunching a new version of their website.  I’m happy to say that today marks the completion of 90% of the redesign and reorganization.

Social Media

It wouldn’t be True Voice Media if we didn’t also improve upon their social media presence.

  • We’ve added a blog, and we’re helping to plan content.
  • We’ve added a Flickr Pro account to host, store and share photographs from the current show and previous year’s shows.  We’re also embedding slideshows under previous year’s shows to ensure a clean, unobtrusive design.
  • We’ve built a new Facebook page from the ground up, with a landing tab and a fancy-shmancy vanity URL:  facebook.com/HeroThrillShow
  • We’ve created a Hero Thrill Show account on Foursquare to add tips to the Hero Thrill Show venue.  We’re also looking to find partners willing to offer special deals and incentives to those that are connected to the Hero Thrill Show on Foursquare.
  • We’ve added a Scribd account to store PDF documents of old letters and press coverage.  We’re also embedding those documents on the website when appropriate. Scribd is also helping to extend the reach of these documents to the web at-large.
  • We’re in the process of looking over the Hero Thrill Show’s YouTube account and making recommendations for this year and future shows.
  • We’ve introduced Eventbrite for ticket sales to increase the likelihood of people sharing the event with their Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn networks.
  • We’ve designed a new poster for this year that uses QR codes to increase traffic to Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and Eventbrite.
  • We’ve created a Hero Thrill Show listening engine on Google Reader.
  • We’ve instituted a Hootsuite social media dashboard for easy posting to Twitter, Foursquare and the Facebook page.
  • We helped implement a text2give campaign through Xipwire.

…and this is just the start of it.  As time goes on we’re going to find more ways to reach and engage more people.  Stay tuned, but please stop by the Hero Thrill Show website, Like the Facebook page, Follow on Twitter and Connect on Foursquare.
