My segment starts at around the 3-minute mark.

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of speaking with Lauren Mayk on NBC10 @Issue. The topic was how to spot, and stop, online propaganda in the digital age.

This was a follow-up to my previous appearance on November 6th on NBC10: How to spot fake news.

My message for dealing with fake news and content created solely to seed division and discontent is to be a more responsible citizen. If we see that the plan is to divide us, and we know that we’re prone to feeding our pre-existing biases, then we have all of the awareness we need to be more responsible in what we share. We have to go back to WHY we’re sharing something in the first place. Are we simply looking to point out to those with opposing views “I told you so”? Are we just looking to be right rather than looking to be effective in a common goal? I think this is a massive challenge, but there isn’t going to be a technology solution that can’t be hacked. Our best approach is to simply be better human beings.

Take a look at the clip and leave a comment below how you think I could improve my on camera persona.
